Invitation to a Rare & Special Spiritual Retreat

in Vrindavan, India
November 11-17, 2007

You are invited to a very special retreat with Maharaj Ji at his serene ashram in Vrindavan.
(All teachings and private conversations with Maharaj JI will be in English)

Come and delve deep into life’s mysteries amidst the lush meditation gardens of this sacred land.  Located in Vrindavan,it is  the birth place of Lord Krishna and the home of many internationally recognized pilgrimage spots with the Taj Mahal close by. There is a spiritual depth to the area that weaves a complexity to everyday life, which is typically not found elsewhere. The ashram grounds are part of the larger 50 acre Vatsalaya Village, (Vatsalyagram aka: Affection Village) which is a dynamic social project spearheaded by Maharaj Ji's devotee, Sadhvi DidiMa Ritambhara Ji.

Vatsalyagram, "Affection Village" is  an intentionally developed village that nurtures both children and adults,  who were previously abandoned in life and brings them up to a high standard of being. Newly born babies who were abandoned by their parents have been adopted into families here. Women and elders that also had no family are now mothers, aunts and grandparent figures for these children. These new families are given a nurturing home environment within the context of a community environment.
The village is a holistic design and incorporates much more than just homes, there is a temple, ashram, walking trails, international school, vocational training center, store, hospital and research center, Naturopathic center and Spa, Ayurvedic center, plant nursery, cow shelter and dairy, playground, guest homes, dining hall, and more
.

Come join us for talks of life’s secret mysteries with Swami Ji and deepen your spiritual practice with meditations, breathing techniques, true yoga devotional songs, ceremony and ritual.  During the retreat Naturopathy and Ayurvedic facilities and services will also be available.

The term “retreat” means to withdraw, pullback or retire.
We may withdraw our body from our daily work schedule, or remove ourselves from a stressful situation or painful relationship.   But even if we are 1,000 miles away, our minds remain the same as we experience stress, anger in an endless chain of thoughts.

A True and Complete retreat is possible
when you attend a Spiritual Retreat.

A Spiritual Retreat enables you to completely withdraw yourself from the mundane world and takes you to different level of inner world that is completely free from any pollutant of stress, tension, depression, mechanical life, emptiness in life, fear, etc.

The focus of this retreat is experiential self-realization under the guidance of beloved Swami Paramanand.
For the past 50 years Swamiji has been graciously guiding seekers on their spiritual paths. Swamiji is well known for transmitting transcendental consciousness to those open to receive his blessings.
He is considered an enlightened master to millions of saints and devotees in his native India. We are fortunate to have this opportunity to receive his teachings in the ancient holy pilgrimage.

This is a soulful journey into the depths of the rich spirituality of India and ourselves The program includes:
  • 5 day Spiritual immersion retreat in the holy city of Vrindavan (birthplace of Lord Krishna) November 11 - 17, 2007

  • Daily teachings and discourses by HH Swami ParmanandJi

Acharya Mahamandelashwar Shri Yug Purush
Swami Parmanand
Giri Maharaj ji
Is a title bestowed upon Swamiji by other Saints and Holy people,
his titles mean:
"The Enlightened One of His Time',
and
"The Teacher of His Age"

It is believed that for each generation
One Supreme Holy person comes to guide
and lead others upon their paths to Self Realization,
Swamiji is recognized as
that Holy Leader.

Swami Parmanand Ji
is affectionately known as
"SwamiJi"
(pronounced : Swah-mee-gee)

Swamiji is a Vedanta Yoga Scholar and Teacher.   His teachings on the Bhagavad Gita are clear, concise, and easy to understand.  He shows everyone the path to Self Realization.   His books have been translated into several languages including English.

Swami Ji teaches from the Vedanta philosophy,

which believes there is just one soul

that pervades through out the universe.

God,

the Supreme Soul,

is the Universe

and we are all part of or

a reflection of that existence

He has tens of millions of followers around the world and
devotes his entire life to the teaching of others in
Self Realization, and the uplifting of life for those in need.
His every effort is dedicated to the well being both
physically and spiritually of others.

He has founded and supports over 26 Ashrams (Temples with Housing for Holy People, similar to Monasteries and Convents) in India, and 1 in America (as of 2003), Numerous schools for both boys and girls in many poor and remote regions throughout India, homes for the aged, and 5 hospitals that provide free and low cost care to all that need it. The schools provide education, meals and uniforms for the children at little (20 cents per month tuition) or no cost to their families.  His homes for the aged, and  hospitals  provide healing and care to all that cannot afford to pay.

He is also sponsor of Vatsalyagram (Affection Village) in Vrindavan (Birthplace of Krishna) which houses 100 Vatsalya Families (affection families) composed of 3 Women to be Mother, Aunt and Grandmother with 5 to 8 abandoned or orphaned children. His program provides, housing, clothing, food, medical care, education and cultural training for all of the children and provides meaning and purpose to the lives of both the women and children in the program. He stood up against great resistance to start the Vatsalya program which has been so successful, it is now the model for several similar programs throughout India.  Children who might normally end up on the street or in orphanages (or worse) are provided with a warm and loving environment to grow up in, as well as education and cultural training to help them have a fulfilling life.  As the children grow up and become adults, they will take care of the women that have raised them providing for them in their old age.

HH Swami Parmanandji is author of dozens
of books on spiritual truths and self
realization.  Many of his books have been
translated into other languages,
Books that have been translated into
English include:
     The Mandukya Upanishad
     Religious Revolution
     Inner Peace
     Perfection In Life

This year (April 2004) at the Kumbah Mela
Swami's 50th anniversary of receiving
Diksha (initiation) by his spiritual Teacher
and Guru, will be celebrated by millions of
attendees in Upjain, India.

Swami Parmanandji began his spiritual
practices as a child, standing in a river
near his home and meditating for hours
each day.  He began his spiritual life
and became a renunciate at age 14,
received Diksha at age 19, and
has lived a holy life since then.
A renunciate is one that devotes their
life to the well being and spiritual growth
of others.  They do not own any property,
or possessions, they do not marry or have
families.  They completely devote their
lives to the good of others.

****Renunciates embrace a four-fold vow of renunciation:
simplicity,
celibacy,
obedience, and
loyalty.
In the religious orders of both East and West,
such vows are the very foundation of the monastic life.
